It included that they “modified the service and used it for commercial purposes”.

How the bot worked is that Discord users could play Youtube video music on Discord and that’s why it ended up becoming super popular. But due to the notice, Groovy will be shutting down on August 30th, 2021.

Groovy bot has been added on loads of Discord servers and boasts of millions of users. As per this Reddit thread, it was the 2nd biggest Discord bot with 16 million servers actively using it. Youtube is taking down discord Music bot. YouTube notified Groovy about violations and has issued a cease and desist notice (for violation of the Terms of Service) to Groovy Bot’s owners. In a cease and desist letter, the receivers are advised to stop a particular activity or else YouTube will file a lawsuit. There was also a claim that they modified the service and used it for commercial purposes.

According to YouTube, Groovy bot violated the terms of service, including modifying the service. The bot allowed Discord users to play YouTube video music on Discord and Nik Ammerlaan, its creator informed users about its shutdown.

The Groovy bot is no longer available. We’ll see how this impacts the other Music bots on Discord. Since Youtube has already taken down one of the largest Discord bots, it is unlikely they will allow any more to operate.

The bot was installed on more than 16 million of the 250 million Discord servers and served 560 million users.

1. Ensure Groovy Is Not Muted

• First, Groovy should appear in your voice chat like one of the two examples below:

• Make sure the mute checkmark is unticked.

• Finally, double-check that Groovy’s volume isn’t set to zero percent.

You can remove, delete, or clear a single song, numerous songs, or the entire queue.

• With the /clear command, you can entirely erase or clear the entire queue of music.

• The /remove command, followed by the song name or number, can be used to remove a single song from the queue.
• You may also remove several songs from the queue using the -remove range command followed by the starting and ending song numbers in the queue.

7. Remove Groovy’s from the voice channel

You can remove the file from the Discord server using one of two techniques.

• Simply execute the -leave command on the voice channel to withdraw Groovy from the Discord server.

• The option to disconnect the Groovy bot can be found by right-clicking on the Groovy bot icon.

• Remove the Groovy bot from the channel so that it cannot be added again. You can block the Groovy bot by right-clicking on it and selecting the block option from the menu.
