Why are some maven projects in IntelliJ greyed out?

Seems images are better way to answer this question.

Projects are greyed out when you ignore them in your IntelliJ workspace.

To add those projects or modules back in your workspace, right click on them and click on unignore projects as shown in below screenshot.

Alternatively, you can also go to File — Settings -> Build, execution and deployment -> Build Tools -> Maven -> Ignored Files, now select whichever projects/modules you may wish to retain in your IntelliJ workspace.

Right click on the pom -> maven -> unignore. Then right click on pom -> maven -> reload project.

Seems some kind of bug when you open a child subdirectory then open the parent in IntelliJ.

Indicate that pom.xml is ignored when editing it

Lot of us might spend more time and then end up deleting module & re-creating it.
But @Pratik Ambani solutions works great!!, option 3 worked in my case.

Maven parent-child engineering project, generated when the sub-module is created

Problem Description

problem causes

Since the module with the same name was created before (the module with the same name was created before and deleted), there are traces in IDEA. Recreating a new module with the same name will make IDEA mistakenly think that it is a module that was deleted before, so this pom.xml file is automatically ignored

Solution

1. Click file> Setting to enter the setting

2. Find the lgnored file, uncheck the selected option on the right, and then click ok

3. It is recommended to click Refresh in Maven in the upper right corner, so that the pom.xml file will be changed back

pom.xml is ignored intellij as

I did rebase to collect all the committs in one, and Iml’s missing file. Reconstructed it by looking at local history in IntellijIDEA. The modul’s been freshened again, but the man is not:

On the left, it can be seen that the pom is grey and stricken, and on the right, a restored iml file. How do you fix it?
Somehow it worked.
1. Remove the memory.
2. Removal of disposal
3. Subject module — right button of mouse — add framework support — maven
