This event generates every time system time was changed.

This event is always logged regardless of the «Audit Security State Change» sub-category setting.

You will typically see these events with “SubjectSecurity ID” = “LOCAL SERVICE”, these are normal time correction actions.

For recommendations, see Security Monitoring Recommendations for this event.

Event XML:

Required Server Roles: None.

Minimum OS Version: Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista.

Event Versions:

0 — Windows Server 2008, Windows Vista.

1 — Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 7.

Field Descriptions:

Subject:

Security ID [Type = SID]: SID of account that requested the “change system time” operation. Event Viewer automatically tries to resolve SIDs and show the account name. If the SID cannot be resolved, you will see the source data in the event.

A security identifier (SID) is a unique value of variable length used to identify a trustee (security principal). Each account has a unique SID that is issued by an authority, such as an Active Directory domain controller, and stored in a security database. Each time a user logs on, the system retrieves the SID for that user from the database and places it in the access token for that user. The system uses the SID in the access token to identify the user in all subsequent interactions with Windows security. When a SID has been used as the unique identifier for a user or group, it cannot ever be used again to identify another user or group. For more information about SIDs, see Security identifiers.

Account Name [Type = UnicodeString]: the name of the account that requested the “change system time” operation.

Account Domain [Type = UnicodeString]: subject’s domain or computer name. Formats vary, and include the following:

Domain NETBIOS name example: CONTOSO

Lowercase full domain name: contoso.local

Uppercase full domain name: CONTOSO.LOCAL

For some well-known security principals, such as LOCAL SERVICE or ANONYMOUS LOGON, the value of this field is “NT AUTHORITY”.

For local user accounts, this field will contain the name of the computer or device that this account belongs to, for example: “Win81”.

Logon ID [Type = HexInt64]: hexadecimal value that can help you correlate this event with recent events that might contain the same Logon ID, for example, “4624: An account was successfully logged on.”

Process Information [Version 1]:

Process ID [Type = Pointer] [Version 1]: hexadecimal Process ID of the process that changed the system time. Process ID (PID) is a number used by the operating system to uniquely identify an active process. To see the PID for a specific process you can, for example, use Task Manager (Details tab, PID column):

Task manager illustration

If you convert the hexadecimal value to decimal, you can compare it to the values in Task Manager.

You can also correlate this process ID with a process ID in other events, for example, “4688: A new process has been created” Process InformationNew Process ID.

Name [Type = UnicodeString] [Version 1]: full path and the name of the executable for the process.

Previous Time [Type = FILETIME]: previous time in UTC time zone. The format is YYYY-MM-DDThh:mm:ss.nnnnnnnZ:

T — the beginning of the time element, as specified in ISO 8601.

n — fractional seconds

Z — the zone designator for the zero UTC offset. «09:30 UTC» is therefore represented as «09:30Z». «14:45:15 UTC» would be «14:45:15Z».

New Time [Type = FILETIME]: new time that was set in UTC time zone.

Revo Uninstaller:
MS Office.

• Forced Uninstall —
• Real-Time Installation Monitor — Revo Uninstaller Pro

Security Monitoring Recommendations

For 4616(S): The system time was changed.

Report all “SubjectSecurity ID” not equals “LOCAL SERVICE”, which means that the time change was not made not by Windows Time service.

Report all “Process InformationName” not equals “C:WindowsSystem32svchost.exe” (path to svchost.exe can be different, you can search for “svchost.exe” substring), which means that the time change was not made not by Windows Time service.

If you have a pre-defined “Process Name” for the process reported in this event, monitor all events with “Process Name” not equal to your defined value.

You can monitor to see if “Process Name” is not in a standard folder (for example, not in System32 or Program Files) or is in a restricted folder (for example, Temporary Internet Files).

Your system clock appears to have been changed, possibly in an attempt to defeat the security system on this program. Please correct your system clock before trying to run this program again. If your clock is already correct, rebooting the system may fix this problem, otherwise contact the author of this program for instructions (report code CCB-A).

Fixing CCB-A Problem in JCreator Pro 4.5 or any version or any software | The safe way to do it.

When you encounter CCB-A problem, a pop-up window that says

Your system clock appears to have been changed, possibly in an attempt to defeat the security system on this program. Please correct your system clock before trying to run this program again. If your clock is already correct, rebooting the system may fix this problem, otherwise contact the author of this program for instructions (report code CCB-A).

everytime you open an application. This can happen to any trial version software since it is used to protect trial version software from being abused by changing the system time so it won’t expire. This problem also exist if you are using trial version software then you apply a crack to make it a full version, so be careful with cracks.

There are lots of ways on how to solve this problem but most of them are too risky since it involves changing the registry which could damaged other software if it is not handled properly.

In my experience, I am using JCreator Pro 4.5 and installed it in my computer. I forgot to register it so I closed the application without registering. When I opened it again, I was shocked because a pop-up window saying that “My system clock appears to have changed and so on…” which was the CCB-A error. It was so annoying because I can’t register it anymore. I tried to change my system clock but still it didn’t worked. I tried uninstalling and installing it again but still it didn’t worked out. I did almost everything from registry to my CMOS but it didn’t change anything. The problem was still there. So I did these very simple steps as my last resort in solving the problem.

1.    I uninstall the JCreator Pro and install it again to have a fresh copy. (Note: Don’t open the application yet).
2.    I turned off the computer and remove the battery of my computer. The battery is used to make your system clock up to date.
3.    I turned on the computer without the battery and set the CMOS time manually to current date and time and saved it.
4.    As I was in the desktop, I changed the CLOCK in the TASKBAR and set it to current date and time.
5.    I opened the application and BOOMM!!! The solution was perfect. It runs perfectly and I was able to register the software.

I hope my solution works on your computer. Please give me some feedback if you have further questions or comments or if it works or not.

I just did a fresh install of W7 on a new Crucial M4 SSD (did the firmware update on it.) and I keep getting this message when I try to start SageTV.

I have the latest Java installed as well. Update 31. Any thoughts?

And Yes I tried rebooting the PC.

EDIT: Found this thread.

My copy of SageTV just all of a sudden started giving me the «Your system clock appears to have changed» message. I have had SageTV on this machine for about 2 years. I filled out and submitted the support form mentioned in this thread but I have not seen a response. It has been about a week. Is the support crew still at Burning Man?

System Clock Error Message — SageTV won’t start

I turned on my computer the other day and get the following message when SageTV tries to start…

«Your system clock appears to have been set back, possibly in an attempt to defeat the security system on this program. Please correct your system clock before trying to run this program again. If your clock is already correct, rebooting the system may fix this problem, otherwise contact the author of this program for instructions»

I tried rebooting but still get the same message.
I tried the sagetv REGISTER command but still get the same message

I tried submitting a support form on 9-6-2012 but have not received a reply.

Is there something else to try?

Here is someone’s solution for the same error message with a different java app:

Quote:

1. Uninstall the app and install it again to have a fresh copy. (Note: Don’t open the application yet).
2. Turn off computer and remove the battery of my computer. The battery is used to make your system clock up to date.
3. Turn on the computer without the battery and set the CMOS time manually to current date and time and saved it.
4. On the desktop change the CLOCK in the TASKBAR and set it to current date and time.
5. Open the application and it runs perfectly.

Not sure this would work for you but it is something to try while you are waiting for SageTV to get back to you.

I’ve also seen suggestions that say to adjust your clock forward a ways reboot then back to the correct time again which would be a simpler change.

Sage TV Errors

My SageTV 6.0 stopped working and complained about missing files msvcr100.dll and jvm.dll. I copied these files over from another windows 7 machine but it still did not work. I then tried to do a 7.0 upgrade and get the following «Your system clock appears to have been set back, possibly in an attempt to defeat the security system on this program. Please correct your system clock before trying to run this program again. If your clock is correct, please contact the author of this program for instructions on correcting this error (report code 4008,11239,5013). » Now what can I do. I had purchased client and server licenses for two machines as well as Sage Hardware boxes for two of my TV’s. Only the one PC is working and I am trying to get the other one working. Any help would be appreciated.

The missing files are a win7 rather than Sagetv problem!!! @#$@#$@#$

Something in one of the latest Windows updates hoses a bunch of DLLs and (as far as I can find) there is just no fixing it short of reinstalling windows. At this point, I’ve rolled back to a better state (although those are still gone!), and I just don’t do windows updates anymore.

Hopefully it works better for other people, but I’ve tried this fix, and get a message that I can’t install, because of some version conflict.

I just ran into this problem a moment ago. I put a new NIC in my system and at that time decided to remove a couple of old Hauppauge cards I had in the system.

After doing this I got the message. It seems the common solution was to contact Sage support and get some magic code to fix this. With Sage support no more, anyone know how I can get this problem solved?

BTW, I’m running the latest Sage 7 with v6 key and the special exe’s to get v7 working.

Thanks!

-Gary

Sage support still exists. It may take longer to get a response but they still respond. So get the magic code from them you still should be able to do that.

Time Change on Desktop; report code CCB-F

My EssentialPIM / EPIM Synchronizer / HotSync version: 2.7
My EssentialPIM edition: EssentialPIM Pro

I had to reinstall my desktop. In doing so, the time got changed and now I get the following message:
«Your system clock appears to have been set back, possibly in an attempt to defeat the security system on this program. Please correct your system clock before trying to run this program again. If your clock is correct, please contact the author of this program for instructions on correcting this error (report code CCB-F).»

What do I need to do?
Thank you!

Here’s a FixClock key for you: 11BB-9D28-9A9A-EA7F.

What you need to do now:

— Run EssentialPIM Pro with the command line option «fixclock» (as in
«EssentialPIM.exe fixclock») and enter the key I’ve given you

[…OR…]

— Run EssentialPIM Pro as normal, and get the clock-back error message. Hold
down a shift key while clicking the OK button; this will call up the
FixClock window and you can enter the key there.

If your system clock is now correct, this should fix the problem. You will
receive a report telling you whether the system was fixed. In some extremely
rare cases it may be necessary to reboot the system and try a second time.

Thank you for the fix. For some reasons, when I started EPIM this morning, it did not give me the timeclock error (and the time correct now; it was an hour off when I installed epim).

I’ll see what happens. I’m still trying to find my license key for the desktop version (the portable version worked fine but the desktop key did not work). Did not know how much I use EPIM until the old desktop fried and all the conduit and settings went with it. Been trying to re-set up this past week.

Thanks!

Update: received the license key from both RegNow and Max and both Desktop and Portable are listed as registered. Thanks.
